Richard III

“Shine out fair sun till I have bought a glass, That I may see my shadow as I pass.” The antics of today’s Republican presidential candidates remind me of Shakespeare’s Richard III, the last Plantagenet King (15th Century) who ruthlessly eliminated any and all contenders for the English Throne. This is a political season filled with enablers of deceit and inflammation of half-wits—all conducted within the shadows of the candidates—a grim stage where the actor’s footsteps barely touch the floor
